YEHUDIS MERLING, MS, OTR/L
Director, STAR THERAPEUTICS CENTER
Yehudis received her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University and was the recipient of the Dona Lin Muscin Pediatric Award. With a passion for changing children’s lives using the latest neuro-scientiﬁc and evidence-based practices.
Yehudis founded STAR Therapeutics. Leaning on her strong background in neuromuscular development, sensory processing disorders, reﬂex integration and visual–vestibular interventions, Yehudis also has unique specialty training in the TheraSuit method, CrainioSacral therapy as well as AIT. Her many years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum, with developmental delays, as well as attention deﬁcit and hyperactivity disorders, led Yehudis to dedicate most of her time and research to the development of a deeper integrative treatment and interdisciplinary cutting-edge approach. A strong believer in neuroplasticity theories, Yehudis has combined many acclaimed techniques to develop the exclusive STAR Therapeutics treatment method.
SHEVI PRAGER, MS, BCBA
Clinical Director, ABA Program
Shevi obtained her Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences through Mercy College in NY, and attended University of North Texas to specialize in Applied Behavior Analysis. A Board Certiﬁed Behavior Analyst, Shevi brings her 15 years of experience with individuals with special needs – particularly those on the autism spectrum – to STAR Therapeutics.
Shevi specializes in working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of learning settings, including home, school, and clinic. In her role as our Clinical Director, she focuses on implementing ABA techniques and guiding our staff to be optimally effective at ABA instruction.
Shevi is also a New Jersey certiﬁed Teacher of Students with Disabilities and the Educational Coordinator of The Center for Education NJ. Shevi is employed as an Adjunct Professor at Mercy College and teaches Applied Behavior Analysis courses to graduate students.
RIFKY GELMAN, MA, CCC-SLP
Social Thinking and Executive Function
Rifky Gelman is a New Jersey State and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist. She has also completed a mentor training program given by Michelle Garcia Winner in San Jose, California.
In addition, she is advanced-PROMPT trained.
She has extensive professional experience working with children, teenagers and adults with autism spectrum disorders, neurological impairments, executive function disorders, apraxia and developmental delays.
Rifky specializes in providing pragmatic language therapy using social cognitive instruction to bridge and support the social-academic connection, enhance social emotional learning and achieve positive outcomes in social executive functioning across contexts.
CHANA FEIGE DINEWITZ, CCC-SLP
Certified, DIR-FLOORTIME Provider
Chana Feige earned her Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Cincinnati. As a certiﬁed DIR-Floortime provider from Profectum Academy (and a current Fellowship program participant).
Chana Feige strives to support every child’s regulation, as a foundation for the capacity to develop relationships. She works to aid clients in comprehending language and engaging in his/her environment.
Chana Feige strongly maintains that spontaneous, developmentally-appropriate interactions in a setting where the child is emotionally invested are what set the stage for optimal learning.
